POSITION SUMMARY

Vertex is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Emissions Regulatory Professional to oversee emissions compliance initiatives. This role is essential in driving Vertex's commitment to environmental stewardship, ensuring adherence to various regulatory frameworks concerning air emissions and related environmental standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate and implement comprehensive emissions compliance strategies, utilizing advanced technologies for Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) and air quality monitoring.
  • Proactively track and interpret changes in emissions and air quality legislation, providing informed guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Compile and deliver thorough emissions and air quality documentation to clients and regulatory bodies, ensuring clarity and compliance.
  • Execute detailed emissions verification processes, audits, and inspections in alignment with ISO 14065 standards.
  • Uphold ISO accreditation protocols to guarantee compliance across all operations.
  • Collaborate with various departments within Vertex to enhance emissions management and ambient air quality initiatives, promoting a culture of teamwork.
  • Offer expert advice and training to personnel on emissions regulations and air quality compliance, fostering a continuous learning environment.
  • Analyze emerging technologies aimed at emissions reduction and air quality enhancement, driving innovative solutions.
  • Develop Alternative Fugitive Emissions Management Plans (Alt-FEMPs) utilizing diverse technologies, focusing on emission reduction and cost efficiency for clients.
  • Identify growth opportunities for the air quality team, including Fenceline monitoring and dispersion modeling, while exploring new technological acquisitions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 15 years of experience in emissions regulatory compliance, ideally within the oil and gas sector.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal, provincial, and local emissions and air quality regulations.
  • Familiarity with air quality monitoring and emissions reduction technologies.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
