Who are we seeking?
We are looking for a Senior Environmental Compliance Engineer to enhance our EHS Compliance Team in Western Canada, with potential locations including major urban centers.

As part of a dynamic and high-performing team, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the expansion of our EHS Compliance services in Western Canada. Assisting clients with EHS Compliance projects, including Greenhouse Gas Validation and Verification, emission inventory development, compliance reporting, and environmental assessments. Managing projects related to Air Quality, Greenhouse Gas, Odour, and Regulatory Compliance for both existing and new clients. Acting as Lead Verifier under ISO14064/65 or equivalent standards. Collaborating with team members across various experience levels on project tasks, including documentation review, emissions calculations, reporting, and verification/validation processes. Interpreting and analyzing provincial and federal regulations. Evaluating data in relation to applicable regulations. Preparing sections of technical reports. Conducting site assessments and fieldwork for projects across multiple provinces. Working with GHD's corporate EHS Compliance team on Air Quality, Climate Change, and Compliance initiatives, collaborating with over 80 engineers and scientists across North America. Providing support for future energy and sustainability initiatives, including decarbonization, biogas, hydrogen conversion, and ESG projects.What you will contribute to the team:
A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline; a post-graduate degree is advantageous. Over 10 years of relevant experience, ideally within a consulting environment. A recognized professional designation. A strong grasp of chemical processes, unit operations, heat and mass balance, along with proficient data analysis and spreadsheet/database skills. Familiarity with regulations pertaining to air quality and climate change in Alberta, BC, and/or Saskatchewan. Technical expertise in ambient air quality monitoring and atmospheric dispersion modeling (AERMOD/CALPUFF). Knowledge and/or experience necessary to qualify as a Lead Verifier under ISO14064/65. Experience with verifications under relevant regulations in various provinces. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with meticulous attention to detail in a consulting context. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capability to excel in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing various project assignments, adhering to strict deadlines, and traveling as required.Tackle some of the most pressing challenges globally, with unwavering support from the GHD team at every step.
