Project Controls Specialist

GHD is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to join our Ontario Region located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario, Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project controls staff assigned to projects, ensuring effective implementation of project control aspects.
- Implement project control systems, including scheduling, cost control, change management, and risk management, in accordance with GHD policies and procedures.
- Work closely with project managers to provide support on project controls functions, including budget and schedule management.
- Collaborate with engineering discipline leads to update design deliverable progress and schedule updates.
- Analyze data and develop recommendations on the economic, financial, and other implications of projects.
- Review project budgets and schedules with project managers and discipline leads, identifying gaps and providing solutions.
- Make recommendations on change notices in compliance with best practice change management techniques.
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure project budgets and invoices are accurate.
- Implement coaching or mentoring on best practice project controls processes within the project team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma from a recognized college or university with a minimum of ten years broad and extensive technical, administrative, and project experience.
- Minimum of 10 years working within project controls within an engineering design environment.
- Experience in providing project controls/services for design delivery for large, multi-discipline projects.
- Demonstrated experience working and/or managing project controls functions, including scheduling, cost control, risk management, and project metrics.
- High level of proficiency and experience with cost analysis and planning scheduling tools.
- Ability to deal with uncertainty, changing priorities, and team building skills.
- PMP, PMI, or similar qualifications is considered an asset.
