About the Role

GHD is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to join our Ontario Region located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario, Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project controls staff assigned to projects, ensuring effective implementation of project control aspects.
  • Implement scheduling, cost control, change management, and risk management processes in accordance with GHD policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to provide support on project controls functions, including budget and schedule management.
  • Engage with engineering discipline leads to support updating of design deliverable progress and schedule updates.
  • Analyze data and develop recommendations on the economic, financial, and other implications of the project.
  • Review and provide solutions to achieving scope, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Make recommendations on change notices in compliance with best practice change management techniques.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to ensure project budgets and invoices are accurate.
  • Implement coaching or mentoring on best practice project controls processes within the project team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma from a recognized college or university with a minimum of ten years broad and extensive technical, administrative, and project experience.
  • Experience in providing project controls/services for design delivery for large, multi-discipline projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working and/or managing project controls functions, including scheduling methods, cost control processes, risk management procedures.
  • High level of proficiency and experience with cost analysis and planning scheduling tools.
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty, changing, and multiple priorities.
  • Team building, staff management, and mentoring skills.
  • PMP, PMI, or similar qualifications is considered an asset.
