Position Overview
The Senior Contract Administrator will report directly to the Contracts Manager and will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities crucial to the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage assigned subcontracts, from the negotiation phase through to ongoing performance evaluation, ensuring that management is kept informed of any potential financial or technical challenges.
- Collaborate with relevant personnel on operational matters that impact contractual rights, obligations, and subcontract performance.
- Ensure adherence to all contract stipulations and requirements.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of insurance policies and manage claims that pertain to project insurance deductibles.
- Implement Change Management protocols effectively.
- Negotiate Change Orders and address change-related issues with subcontractors.
- Guarantee timely and precise contractual communications.
- Assess and price change and delay issues accurately.
- Track deliverables, including bonds, reports, insurance certificates, and claims.
- Establish and maintain record-keeping systems to validate potential changes.
- Maintain logs for change management and issues, providing summary reports as needed.
- Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Additional responsibilities include:
- Conducting Subcontractor Kickoff meetings.
- Facilitating regular review meetings with subcontractors.
- Managing payment processes.
- Monitoring project schedules.
- Preparing monthly financial reports.
- Recommending improvements to contract administration practices.
- Overseeing Subcontract Agreement closeouts.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or Finance is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in contract administration or related fields such as quantity surveying, accounting, finance, or legal.
- Proven experience in managing contracts effectively.
- Strong understanding of the legal aspects associated with specific contracts.
- Relevant experience in handling and managing insurance claims.
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations, negotiate, and resolve first and third-party commercial claims.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying discrepancies.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience with change management methodologies and tools.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and work towards a unified goal.

Preferred Qualifications- Certification or designation in change management is advantageous.
Knowledge of construction and contract law is preferred, with experience in Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) forms being an asset.
