Key Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Leader at Thrive Foods will oversee personnel management and strategic planning, while also developing and executing HR functions to uphold policies and procedures across all HR activities. The primary responsibilities include:

  1. Change Management:
    1. Drive change management efforts to facilitate business expansion and the integration of new facilities.
    2. Assist in the rollout of a new HR Information System (HRIS) and timekeeping solution.
    3. Participate in strategic planning, development, and execution of innovative HR programs, systems, and processes.
    4. Create, revise, and enforce HR policies and procedures.
    5. Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention.
    6. Support the adaptation of new workplace practices in a post-acquisition setting.
  2. Employee Relations:
    1. Address employee relations matters, which may involve conducting thorough investigations.
    2. Promote a positive workplace culture that aligns with company values.
    3. Act as an advocate for employees, addressing their concerns and fostering a supportive environment.
    4. Provide guidance and knowledge to managers in resolving employee-related issues.
    5. Facilitate effective communication channels between management and staff.
    6. Assess employee performance and initiate promotions, transfers, or performance management processes.
    7. Develop creative solutions to employee challenges with a focus on continuous improvement.
  3. Learning and Development:
    1. Lead the implementation of a new Learning Management System (LMS) and assist employees in utilizing it effectively.
    2. Identify training requirements and design comprehensive training programs.
    3. Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and recommend enhancements as necessary.
  4. Compliance:
    1. Ensure adherence to employment standards and regulations.
    2. Provide updates and recommendations to the leadership team regarding changes to relevant employment standards in British Columbia.
    3. Conduct compliance audits to ensure conformity with established standards.
    4. Collaborate with the safety officer to guarantee compliance with regulations and promote workplace health and safety.
  5. Recruitment:
    1. Manage recruitment efforts for management-level positions.
    2. Oversee and support the recruitment and onboarding of hourly employees.
    3. Enhance onboarding processes to ensure a seamless transition for new hires.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Professional HR certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  3. A minimum of 7-10 years of HR experience, particularly in manufacturing or a related sector.
  4. Experience with HRIS implementation and compliance oversight.
  5. Strong understanding of relevant employment laws and regulations, especially the BC Employment Standards Act.
  6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  7. Proven capability to manage change, influence stakeholders, and execute new initiatives.
  8. Strong analytical skills and the ability to advocate for employees while balancing organizational needs.
