We are seeking a Production Supervisor (Area Manager Bathing) for our Afternoon Shift (Monday-Thursday, 4 Day work week, 3 days weekend)

The Production Supervisor (Area Manager) plays a crucial role within the Operations Management team, reporting directly to the Operations Manager. This position is tasked with overseeing production personnel and ensuring that safety, quality, and production objectives are achieved within a Lean manufacturing framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team comprising 5 lead hands and 40 hourly staff members.
  • Foster a safe and organized workplace by educating and guiding team members on safe operational practices to achieve Safety and 5S goals.
  • Attain quality benchmarks by actively participating in and spearheading enhancements across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics through daily management, various Quality and Lean methodologies, and Process Problem Solving.
  • Ensure the effective execution of the production schedule to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Engage in Lean Glass house and COQ initiatives to meet TCP objectives.
  • Deliver monthly briefings to hourly employees regarding policies, procedures, and any changes.
  • Coordinate necessary inquiries for all team members.
  • Oversee employee training and monitor the progress of new hires and cross-training efforts.
  • Validate production entries, troubleshoot issues, and audit daily reports.
  • Conduct evaluations for new employees during their probationary period.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally within a lean environment.
  • Background in Continuous Improvement/process development is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in a comparable role (experience in a unionized environment is a plus).
  • Proficient computer skills and technical aptitude.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
