Position: Accounting Manager, Oil & Gas Services
About the Role
LRO Staffing is collaborating with a prominent private oil and gas services firm to identify a skilled Accounting Manager. This organization is recognized for its commitment to innovation and excellence within the industry, creating a supportive and empowering workplace for its employees.
As the company continues to grow, they are looking for a proactive and experienced Accounting Manager to join their team. This position presents a significant opportunity for career advancement, with the possibility of moving into a Controller role in the near future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial operations of the organization, reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance. You will manage a team of six accounting professionals, ensuring the precision and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of accounting professionals, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Guarantee the accuracy and promptness of financial statements, management reports, and compliance filings.
- Collaborate with the VP of Finance to formulate and oversee the annual budget, providing insights to aid strategic decision-making.
- Establish and monitor internal controls to protect company assets and ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiencies and leverage technology for better accuracy.
- Coordinate external audits and manage tax compliance, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and accurate.
- Prepare for a smooth transition to the Controller position by thoroughly understanding the company's financial operations and strategic objectives.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation is preferred.
- Significant experience in accounting and finance roles, with a minimum of several years in the oil and gas services sector.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and internal control frameworks.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to senior management.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive base salary in the range of $110,000 to $120,000.
