Senior Associate - Pension Administration

We are looking for a dedicated, motivated, and career-oriented individual to become a member of our Pension Administration division.
This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility to work remotely and from our offices.
Eligibility Requirement: Applicants must possess legal authorization to work in Canada. This position does not offer sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or assume responsibility for an employment visa or work permit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality service to Defined Benefit Pension clients.
- Calculate, review, and authorize benefit entitlements related to retirement, termination, death, and marriage breakdown.
- Conduct year-end updates of plan records, including reconciliation of membership, contributions, and trust fund.
- Calculate and review PAs, PSPAs, and PARs, and prepare relevant filing forms.
- Prepare and review annual pension statements.
- Interpret and analyze pension plan texts.
- Ensure quality control of year-end data input and verify computer output.
- Communicate with clients regarding data, administration, and interpretation of pension plan texts.
- Prepare, review, and file government forms including Annual Information Return, Form 7, and PBGF forms.
- Monitor team progress and coordinate with various departments to ensure timely service delivery.
- Assist in the setup and testing of systems for new and existing clients according to plan provisions and administrative requirements.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
- Respond to member inquiries and facilitate requests.
- Participate in client meetings in a technical support capacity.
- Collaborate with trust companies and plan auditors.
- Maintain client records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Defined Benefit pension plans is preferred.
- Educational background in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, or Finance.
- Prior experience in reviewing calculations and year-end tasks (PAs, Indexation, Annual Statements, etc.).
- Familiarity with relevant provincial and federal pension legislation and Income Tax Act provisions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with pension administration systems, along with strong spreadsheet skills and mathematical proficiency.
- Detail-oriented with effective pension administration and organizational skills.
- Proficient in advanced Excel and knowledgeable in Word.
- Client-focused approach.
- Additional assets include knowledge of the French language, a relevant degree, and completion of CEBS, PPAC, CHRP, or actuarial courses.
