About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at First Student, the largest provider of student transportation in North America. As a Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Diagnose and perform accurate repairs on all phases of vehicle and equipment maintenance, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, and other repairs.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections to ensure our vehicles are in top condition.
  • Work Order Management: Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately, and maintain records of all maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary, and work collaboratively with other team members to achieve our goals.
  • Adherence to Standards: Adhere to First Student standards, policies, and procedures, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • License and Certification: Must have a valid 310T Mechanic license and a valid driver's license.
  • Tools and Equipment: Must have an appropriate mechanics tool set.
  • Skills and Abilities: Advanced problem-solving ability, advanced computer skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and ability to work assigned shift.
