Position Overview:
The City of North Bay is seeking a qualified Water & Wastewater Facilities Industrial Millwright to join our Infrastructure and Operations Division. This role involves performing essential mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on water and wastewater systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks on various water and wastewater facilities.
- Ensure efficient management and utilization of materials, parts, and equipment while adhering to established safety policies and regulations.
- Complete necessary documentation and reports related to maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid certification as an Industrial Millwright in Ontario.
- Proven ability to identify and rectify unsafe working conditions.
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant regulations.
- Strong clerical skills for report completion.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mechanical and electrical repair operations.
- Knowledge of operational standards and practices for water/wastewater treatment facilities is an asset.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Must obtain MOE OIT within three months of hire and achieve Water and Wastewater Treatment and Distribution Level I certification.
- Proficient computer skills for process control and data entry.
- Ability to perform physical labor as required.
- Availability for on-call rotation and emergency response.
- Possession of a valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's license.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Employment Type:
This is a permanent full-time position within a unionized environment.
Compensation:
The hourly wage is $32.22, with opportunities for overtime.
