We actively collaborate with our home operator partners to enhance resident health, provide staff education, and improve medication system quality and efficiency.
Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time pharmacist to join our team on a 12-month contract basis. Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and safe dispensing of prescriptions while providing exceptional pharmaceutical patient care. Your role will focus on promoting therapeutic appropriateness for patients within our senior living communities.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure accurate, safe, timely, and complete medication dispensing.
- Execute daily tasks in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures.
- Consult with pharmacy management when facing unresolved issues related to daily operations.
- Provide outstanding customer service to CareRx Pharmacy patients.
- Communicate effectively with the resident care team, maintaining professionalism and adhering to corporate policies to ensure the highest standards of customer care and pharmacy service.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and complete resident health records, ensuring proper documentation and continuity of care.
- Conduct medication regimen/profile reviews with associated documentation of recommendations.
- Adhere to all provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
- Comply with all corporate regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventory.
- Participate in training and supporting newly hired and existing pharmacy team members as needed.
- Engage in ongoing continuing education, staying current on pharmaceutical, medical, and professional licensing information, as well as corporate updates, policies, and standards.
- Prepare and compound medications when required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Current pharmacist license in good standing.
- Experience working in a pharmacy setting, preferably within a long-term care or senior living environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
