Key Responsibilities:
  • Dispensing and Patient Education: Provide accurate and timely dispensing of medications, educate patients on proper use, and address any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Medication Verification: Verify dosage and instructions on prescribed medications to ensure patient safety.
  • Prescription Preparation: Prepare prescriptions according to prescriber instructions and ensure accuracy.
  • Medication Interaction and Safety: Identify potential medication interactions and ensure patient safety by verifying compatibility with other medications.
  • Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and answer any questions they may have.
  • Vaccination Administration: Administer vaccinations, such as flu shots, as required.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and manage pharmacy interns and technicians to ensure seamless operations.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform basic record-keeping and administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
  • Valid License: Hold a valid license to practice as a pharmacist in Ontario.
  • Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Possess a detailed understanding of dosage requirements, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
  • Software Proficiency: Have working knowledge of software applications used by pharmacies, such as FILLWARE and KROLL.
