- Prescription Preparation: Prepare prescriptions according to prescriber instructions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Medication Safety: Verify patient safety and potential interactions with other medications.
- Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and answer questions.
- Vaccinations and Immunizations: Administer vaccinations, such as flu shots, to patients.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and manage pharmacy interns and technicians to ensure smooth operations.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform basic record-keeping and administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Valid License: Hold a valid license to practice as a pharmacist in Ontario.
- Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Possess a detailed understanding of dosage requirements, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
- Technical Skills: Have a working knowledge of software applications used by pharmacies, such as FILLWARE and KROLL.
