As an instructor, you will:
- Guide students through theoretical and practical learning in a classroom, lab, or workshop environment, offering academic support during designated hours.
- Adapt and/or create course objectives, outlines, curricula, and assessment tools to enhance the learning experience.
- Maintain comprehensive records related to courses, including evaluations and attendance, and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
- Organize and prepare instructional materials and resources for effective course delivery.
- Share your enthusiasm and expertise in the nursing field with students enrolled in the program.
- Exhibit enthusiasm in managing classroom dynamics, evaluating student performance, providing academic guidance, and fulfilling related administrative responsibilities.
- Possess a thorough understanding of the CLPNM's role, the competencies required for entry-level Practical Nurses, their scope of practice, and the regulatory framework governing our students and Licensed Practical Nurses in Manitoba.
Deliver Results Through:
- A passion for communication, a desire to impart knowledge, and a commitment to crafting exceptional educational experiences for students.
- Relevant post-secondary education in nursing combined with substantial experience in acute care settings.
- Experience teaching in adult education settings is highly valued, along with familiarity with Moodle as a beneficial asset.
- Possession of appropriate nursing credentials and other relevant post-secondary qualifications.
- Registration and good standing with CRNM, CRPNM, or CLPNM, along with relevant teaching experience in theory, lab, and clinical settings.
- A solid grasp of program and curriculum development, including the principles of Indigenization and decolonization, classroom instruction, assessment, evaluation, student advising, and group facilitation.
- Strong technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Word.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within the Practical Nursing team.
