Your Role

As a Senior Strategic Pricing Analyst, you will develop both tactical and strategic pricing initiatives aimed at maximizing overall passenger revenue while aligning with company objectives. You will monitor the competitive pricing landscape to ensure that Frontier's fares are strategically positioned. Additionally, you will communicate pricing activities to Revenue Management peers and leadership.

In this role, you are expected to perform at a higher level than the Strategic Pricing Analyst I & II, particularly in analyzing market demand influences to formulate effective pricing strategies that enhance revenue. You will also lead the training and mentorship of junior team members, guiding the team towards achieving revenue goals. This position serves as a potential stepping stone to a Pricing Manager or Senior Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate commercial objectives into actionable plans for the pricing team.
  • Assist the Pricing Manager and Director in envisioning team goals and proposing appropriate fare actions based on system and regional trends.
  • Monitor team progress towards departmental revenue and traffic targets.
  • Identify opportunities for increased collaboration with commercial team peers.
  • Train new hires until they reach proficiency.
  • Mentor junior team members on pricing principles, strategies, and analysis.
  • Evaluate performance and initiate fare strategies to leverage strengths and address challenges in assigned markets.
  • Proactively identify fare adjustment opportunities beyond immediate market sets.
  • Monitor competitive fare activities and implement appropriate market-level responses based on performance and company objectives.
  • Utilize game theory principles to determine the most beneficial fare actions considering competitor responses.
  • Collaborate with Yield Management counterparts on market strategies, providing strategic pricing direction and competitive context.
  • Stay informed about internal and external factors influencing demand to guide pricing decisions.
  • Communicate Frontier and competitor pricing actions to the Revenue Management and Commercial Team.
  • Drive sales strategy by recommending price points and restrictions that align with market performance, supporting marketing efforts by packaging sale fares for advertising.
  • Manage the balance between nonstop and connecting bookings to optimize revenue and minimize spill.
  • Distribute Frontier fares to host reservation systems and third-party fare clearinghouses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred majors include Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Advanced degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in airline pricing and/or yield management, or 3 years in the airline industry with an additional 2+ years in a related field.
  • Proficiency with ATPCO fare filing functionality is required.
  • Experience with major GDS systems is required.
  • Familiarity with ATPCO rule and footnote coding is preferred.
  • Experience with Navitaire, SkyFare/SkySpeed is preferred.
  • Experience with fare management software such as Sabre AVFM or SITA Airfare Insight is preferred.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills in previous roles.
  • Advanced understanding of pricing and yield management theories and practices.
  • Awareness of the current industry pricing environment, competitive landscape, and recent trends.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team towards common goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) is preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong drive for results.
  • Comfortable working under general direction in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to distill relevant information from large data sets.
  • Capacity to identify root causes and develop appropriate responses.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.

Work Environment

This position operates in a standard office environment with adequate heating and cooling.

Supervision

General direction is provided, with minimal instruction on daily tasks and general guidance on new assignments.

Salary Range

$72,000 - $93,525
