Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Excavation Equipment Operator to join our team at Leading Edge Earthworks. As an Excavation Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, including backhoes, loaders, and bulldozers, to excavate and move earth and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as backhoes, loaders, and bulldozers, to excavate and move earth and other materials.
  • Clean and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Measure and record distances, volumes, and weights of materials excavated.
  • Operate computer-controlled equipment and GPS navigation systems.
  • Understand and follow safety protocols and procedures.
  • Complete accident reports and other documentation as required.
  • Secure special attachments to equipment and perform minor repairs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and specifications.
Requirements
  • Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or excavation environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
