JOB SUMMARY:

The Physiotherapist plays a crucial role in patient rehabilitation under the guidance of the Patient Care Manager, collaborating with a diverse healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

This position involves comprehensive patient evaluations and the formulation of individualized treatment strategies. The Physiotherapist is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of patient interactions, engaging in interdisciplinary meetings, and tracking relevant performance metrics. Participation in program development and assessment, along with other related responsibilities, is also expected. Flexibility for travel between various healthcare sites may be necessary, and weekend shifts could be part of the schedule.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain licensure with the College of Physiotherapy in Ontario, ensuring good standing;
  • Hold a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification;
  • Possess a minimum of two years' experience in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation;
  • Completion of a postgraduate orthopedic course is considered advantageous;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing medically complex and post-surgical patients;
  • Experience in mentoring student clinicians is preferred;
  • Current CPR certification is required;
  • Ability to design and recommend ongoing self-care programs for clients;
  • Capability to manually lift, turn, and transfer patients, both independently and with mechanical assistance;
  • Proficient in using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications;
  • Exhibit strong organizational, prioritization, problem-solving, and case management skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, along with conflict resolution skills;

  • Maintain a satisfactory performance record;
  • Understanding and adherence to comprehensive safety protocols, including participation in regular training.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

Employment terms are governed by the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
