Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Textile Production Specialist to join our team at Canadian Textile Services Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for loading and off-loading machines, cutting fabric to specifications, and maintaining machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and off-load machines with precision and efficiency
  • Cut fabric or layers of fabric to meet exacting specifications
  • Set up, maintain, and make minor repairs to machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Push carts, trucks, or cans of fibres from one work area to another with ease
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Assist machine operators and other textile workers as required to meet production goals
  • Select leather and cutting dies with attention to detail
  • Cut and prepare fabric, leather, and fur samples to meet quality standards
  • Adjust cutting technique to type of fabric and style of garment to ensure optimal results
  • Operate clicker or punch press to stretch leather with precision
  • Adjust rotation and mixing action of vats according to state of pelts to achieve desired results
  • Examine products for defects to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Operate a variety of machines to bleach, dye, coat, or finish fabric, thread, yarn, or other textile products to meet customer requirements
  • Prepare solutions to clean, dehair, pickle, oil, or tan hides and skins to meet quality standards
Work Environment

Our textile production facility is a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you will work in a team to meet production goals. You will be required to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.

Requirements
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a textile production environment
  • Permanent employment with a competitive salary and benefits package
  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • English language proficiency
