Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs at our facility. The successful candidate will work closely with the EHS Manager to develop and implement corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to corporate EHS policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Documentation Management: Ensure EHS training files are organized and up-to-date, and manage documentation requirements to maintain compliance.
  • Site Training and Compliance: Conduct site training, maintain EHS records, and implement and update site procedures, utilizing software systems such as Gensuite for file maintenance.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments, review and approve risk assessments, and assist in the coordination of risk reduction projects.
  • Injury and Illness Tracking: Lead injury and illness tracking, case management, and root cause analysis.
  • Emergency Response: Function as a member of the Emergency Response team, maintain qualifications, and support position-specific training, drills, and exercises.
  • New Hire Orientation: Provide new hire safety orientation as needed.
  • Corporate Wellness Initiatives: Assist in supporting corporate wellness initiatives.
  • Accident Investigations: Assist in performing accident investigations as needed.
  • First Aid and CPR: Provide first aid and CPR as part of the facility Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT).
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or Associate's Degree with 2 years of EHS experience.
  • Experience: Prior experience with controlled documentation/documentation change management.
  • Skills and Abilities: Proficient use of computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related applications or software. Basic knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc. Demonstrated initiative in proactively identifying future potential safety risks and suggesting or implementing appropriate countermeasures.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Typical work in office environment and manufacturing plant floor environment. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
