Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Store Supervisor to join our team at Laxmi Convenience and Grocery Store. As a Retail Store Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our store, ensuring that our customers receive excellent service and that our store runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Train Staff: Supervise and train a team of sales workers, ensuring that they are knowledgeable about our products and services and are providing excellent customer service.
  • Assign Sales Workers to Duties: Assign sales workers to duties such as restocking shelves, processing transactions, and maintaining store displays.
  • Hire and Train New Staff: Hire and train new staff members, ensuring that they are knowledgeable about our products and services and are providing excellent customer service.
  • Authorize Payments: Authorize payments by cheque and ensure that all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Establish Work Schedules: Establish work schedules for sales workers, ensuring that the store is adequately staffed at all times.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Organize and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that the store is always stocked with the products that our customers want.
  • Supervise and Coordinate Activities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of sales workers, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct Performance Reviews: Conduct performance reviews of sales workers, providing feedback and coaching to help them improve their performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail store environment.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in MS Outlook and other computer software.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, handling heavy loads, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client focus, team player.
