The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior/Intermediate Building Operator to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our 375,000 square foot building, ensuring the smooth operation of all systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control property equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including inspections, tests, and record-keeping
  • Assist with waste, recycling, and hazardous materials issues
  • Complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work, including seasonal shutdowns and startups
  • Monitor and control life safety equipment, including fire alarms and sprinkler systems
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of direct work experience in building operations/facility management
  • Working towards completion of BES I/II, FMA, SMT, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, fire alarm panels, sprinkler systems, emergency power generators, plumbing, etc.
  • Ability to understand and interpret specifications and related system drawings, schematics, and blueprints
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physical fitness enabling reasonable lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, walking
  • Class G driver's license required
