Customer Service Specialist

Mandate:
As a key member of our team at Delmar International Inc., the Customer Service Representative (Customs) plays a vital role in ensuring seamless trade operations. Reporting to the Department Manager, this individual is responsible for gathering critical information to complete rating and clearances of shipments, and effectively communicating this data to a diverse portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with clients to establish efficient processes for both the brokerage team and the client, identifying areas for improvement and implementing systematic changes.
- Analyze data to enhance the brokerage team's and client's service, driving proactive solutions to meet their needs.
- Respond to client inquiries, including billing and shipment-related matters, providing timely and accurate information.
- Update data in Salesforce and collaborate with assigned departments to resolve client cases.
- Monitor daily operations, reporting key insights to assigned managers to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in customer service activities related to customs services.
- College degree in International Transportation & Customs or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin is an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian customs regulations and trade processes is an asset.
- Experience in CargoWise One system or related brokerage systems is an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- CCS designation is an asset.
