Location: RTP, NC

The Chemical Laboratory Technician will be responsible for executing tests and preparing documentation for specialty gas cylinders. Working under general supervision, this role involves performing routine technical tasks in various settings, including plant, field, or laboratory environments, while providing essential technical support in areas such as gas applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine analytical procedures on both pure and mixed gases
  • Utilize or adapt standard operating procedures
  • Perform mixture calculations for standard mixtures
  • Create specialty gas mixtures based on customer specifications
  • Generate certificates of analysis for pure products and mixtures
  • Test cylinders for safety and fill them according to established specifications
  • Coordinate electronic analytical tests to ensure gas mixtures meet customer requirements
  • Assist in evaluating all medical gases for compliance before delivery
  • Set up and calibrate testing equipment to required standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment
  • Perform routine maintenance on instruments, scales, and pumps
  • Keep records both in hard copy and electronically
  • Collaborate effectively with other teams
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Associate's Degree is preferred
  • Experience in Industrial/Specialty Gas is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial laboratory setting
