**Responsibilities**:

- Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests and analyses of volatile constituents of e-liquid and heated tobacco in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform chemical reactions, sample preparation, and other relevant tasks.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain a range of analytical and chemical equipment such as viscometer, particle size analyzer, pH meter, formulation equipment and other specialized instruments.
- Accurately collect, record, and document experimental data, observations, and results, as well as maintain detailed laboratory procedure in the database.
- Assist in ensuring the quality and reliability of experimental procedures and results, while adhering to SOPs and safety guidelines at all times.
- Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals, reagents, and samples in compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory equipment. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Theoretical understanding of organic chemistry, inorganic and physical chemistry.
- Inventory Management: Maintain laboratory supplies and chemicals inventory.
- Source and procure chemicals and materials as needed for ongoing projects.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the laboratory. Set up workstations, clean glassware, and prepare solutions as required.
- Work closely with fellow technicians, scientists, and cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and contribute to the overall success of the research initiatives.
- Contribute to process improvements, method development, and optimization efforts to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of laboratory procedures.
- Mentor and support training of junior team members in the lab.

Qualifications:

- 2-3 years of proven experience as a Chemistry Technician, in a laboratory setting in academia or in industries related to tobacco, pharmaceuticals, or similar.
- Familiarity and comfort with handling chemical equipment and instruments (such as gas chromatographs (GC) or mass spectrometer (MS)) in an academic or commercial laboratory setting.
- Experience in day-to-day laboratory activities, including materials intake, equipment maintenance and inventory management.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to follow established SOPs and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in using laboratory software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and practices.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of tobacco heated products and related research is advantageous.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
