About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team at Vale Canada. As a key member of our maintenance engineering and reliability system, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and maintenance, to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
  • Monitor and analyze maintenance reports, work orders, and history to optimize maintenance procedures and improve overall efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with established safety policies and procedures, as well as Vale's quality control standards.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to Material Coordinators on requisitioning parts, following up with procurement, and preparing job kits for planned jobs.
  • Contribute to Maintenance Shutdown planning strategies, identifying and prioritizing future maintenance requirements, and working with operations, engineering, and outside contractors to ensure successful and safe execution.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant planning experience, preferably in an industrial or operating environment.
  • Supervisory experience is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in SAP and MS suite.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to changing roles and environment in a positive and constructive manner while managing multiple priorities.
  • Able to build and maintain strong positive relationships across multiple work groups.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), as well as interpersonal skills.
