About the Role

The Operational Excellence team at Michael Garron Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Improvement Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering strategy and operational improvement initiatives that drive positive change in quality, patient safety, and financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the hospital to identify and recommend improvement opportunities in patient care, staff safety, revenue growth, and resource optimization.
  • Apply project and change management principles to develop charters, work plans, stakeholder assessments, communication plans, and status reports.
  • Collect and analyze data to enable fact-based problem solving and effective visualization and communication of data.
  • Apply a variety of improvement methods and tools to support effective and efficient workflows, including process mapping, root cause analysis, PDSA, reliable design, and rapid cycle improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience designing and implementing quality and process improvement projects in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong team facilitation skills and ability to provide clarity on project goals and a pathway to achieve success.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing demands.
  • Excellent data analytic experience and ability to design solutions for complex data reports, automate data reporting, and work with large healthcare data sets.
  • Excellent capabilities with Microsoft Office suite, including data analytics and visualization tools.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written, to convey salient messages in large information sets.
