Network Infrastructure Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical guidance for system architecture, management, operation, and configuration of Vancity's network infrastructure. Enhance existing technologies, conduct trend evaluations, and oversee the technology lifecycle within the networking domain.
  • Strategize and implement network technologies aligned with organizational operational frameworks. Ensure a robust and secure network infrastructure that meets service level objectives. Foster cross-departmental collaborations to develop and execute network solutions.
  • Design, create, document, and sustain essential network platforms (including Wide Area, campus, disaster recovery, contact center, cloud, security, and wireless) that address daily business requirements, support escalating security needs, and enhance user experience.
  • Provide advanced technical support to the IT Service Desk to ensure adherence to Service Level Goals and IT standards.
  • Conduct and compile thorough qualitative and quantitative analyses for business and technology applications. Propose optimized, cost-effective, and secure designs that address business and technology challenges.
  • Oversee and prioritize the work order queue, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to ensure effective organizational support. Commit to continuous improvement through technical trend analysis, proactive problem identification, and lifecycle management.
  • Resolve IT work orders in compliance with established standards to ensure timely responses that meet business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience with core network infrastructure and associated technologies, including Switching, Routing, Voice, Load Balancers, and Cloud.
  • Familiarity with security technologies (VPN, Firewalls, best practices).
  • Basic understanding of Windows infrastructure (DNS, AD, DHCP).
  • Fundamental knowledge of virtualization.
  • Awareness of physical infrastructure (such as device racking, cabling, data center best practices).
  • Successful completion of Cisco CCNP certification.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco CCIE certification.

The salary range for this position is $64,500 to $96,500, with offers likely centered around the mid-point of $80,500. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals demonstrating consistent strong performance and possessing a high level of expertise.
