About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at TEG BAINS SPECIALIST INC. as a key member of our IT department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • Hardware and Software Evaluation: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide problem-solving services to network users, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical issues.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect our network and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Network Maintenance: Perform routine network start-up and close-down procedures, maintain control records, and ensure data backups and disaster recovery operations are conducted regularly.
  • Network Setup and Optimization: Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet, implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Technical Support: Respond to requests for help and information from website visitors and designers, providing expert technical support and guidance.
  • Web-Server Management: Perform web-server backup and recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in network administration, technical support, or related field.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of virtualization, MAC, Linux, device drivers, networking software, networking hardware, networking security, Internet, servers, and file management software.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, initiative, organized, and team player.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment requiring manual dexterity.
