Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at TEG BAINS SPECIALIST INC. as a key member of our IT department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering our local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • Hardware and Software Evaluation: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide problem-solving services to network users.
  • Security Measures: Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures.
  • Network Maintenance: Perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Network Setup: Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet.
  • Network Optimization: Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance.
  • Customer Support: Respond to requests for help and information from website visitors and website designers.
  • Web-Server Maintenance: Perform web-server backup and recovery operations.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in network administration.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, virtualization, MAC, Linux, device drivers, networking software, networking hardware, networking security, Internet, servers, and file management software.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, initiative, organized, and team player.
