Key Responsibilities- Oversight of our West Virginia Distribution Center, Burnaby Warehouse, and Jacksonville Warehouse, ensuring seamless shipping, receiving, and warehouse management processes.
- Developing and implementing policies and processes to ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations across all locations.
- Reviewing and preparing manpower and space requirements to align with business needs, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Providing functional and process support for our UK/Euro warehouse and distribution resources, ensuring smooth operations and efficient logistics.
- Building and maintaining relationships with freight providers and forwarders to secure competitive rates and services.
- Planning and optimizing inbound logistics, maintaining accurate data on delivery schedules and costs, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products.
- Ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations throughout our inbound and outbound operations, mitigating risks and ensuring seamless trade.
- Implementing and overseeing processes to manage compliance risk, while distributing materials and products efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Optimizing warehouse process efficiency and proactively managing costs, ensuring maximum productivity and minimal waste.
- Executing repairs in Burnaby and West Virginia, including 3rd party contract repairs, and coordinating embellishment and customization services.
- Managing and overseeing the budget for all warehousing activity, including workforce and resource planning in Burnaby, Spencer, and Jacksonville.
- Maintaining metrics and analyzing data to assess performance and implement improvements, driving continuous growth and efficiency.
- Collaborating with cross-functional initiatives within the organization to continuously improve and streamline fulfillment operations, ensuring alignment with broader corporate objectives.
- Developing strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of logistics and distribution operations, aligning these with broader corporate goals.
- Demonstrating ability to use strategic influence to gain buy-in for logistics initiatives, drive alignment on goals, and ensure successful execution of cross-functional projects.
- Fostering strong partnerships across departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication, driving business growth and success.
- Demonstrating ability to build and nurture a high-performing team, providing guidance and support through coaching and mentorship.
- Leading, coaching, and mentoring the team across various locations, ensuring consistent performance and growth.
- Understanding potential risks in logistics and developing strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring business continuity and success.
- 10+ years of experience in a management position, including experience in a warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing environment.
- Experience in customs and trade compliance is an asset.
- A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration is preferred.
- Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or Distribution certification from APICS or similar recognized authority is preferable.
- Must have a detailed understanding of management skills, business practices, and judgment in applying policies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent problem-solving, planning, process, and policy development, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP and MS Office suite of software.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel to all warehouse locations on at least a quarterly basis.
Leadership and Management: Effective people management and cross-functional collaboration.
Logistics and Distribution Best Practices and Regulatory Requirements: Must have an understanding of best practices in customs and trade compliance, warehousing, shipping, and distribution.
Adaptability and Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to learn new processes quickly, adapt to changes, and solve operational problems effectively.
Strategic Planning: Proven ability to envision and plan for the future of logistics and distribution within the company, aligning it with broader corporate goals.
