The ERP Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in the upkeep and ongoing enhancement of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and associated financial platforms for the operational sectors of Seaspan Transportation. This position involves supporting system redesign efforts, managing change initiatives, developing and constructing reports, evaluating business requirements, conducting system and process control assessments, documenting business needs, and crafting both process and technical solutions. Additionally, the analyst provides technical assistance for division-specific applications and supports accounting and reporting functions, which encompass month-end closing activities and financial/management reporting. Responsibilities include month-end entries, account reconciliations, account monitoring, accrual preparations, results analysis, and financial reporting.

Note: This role is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement following a 90-day period of onsite work and onboarding, subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.

Key Responsibilities

System Maintenance, Redesign, and Report Development: Responsible for managing the General Ledger Chart of Accounts (COA) within the ERP system, including account modifications and ensuring the security of the COA. Identifies opportunities for system enhancements, both proactive and reactive, and makes recommendations to process owners. Assists in developing business cases for system enhancement requests, including basic financial analysis and modeling. Conducts process reviews, gap analyses, and supports the implementation of process improvements. Ensures that process documentation is comprehensive and current. Regularly updates the Delegation of Financial Authority (DFA) table. Develops and delivers training materials on financial systems, including user guides, manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and online reference materials. Financial Support: Aids in the preparation of month-end operational and financial reports, including account reconciliations. Provides support to Accounting Analysts during the month-end closing process as needed. Reviews and enhances finance processes related to month-end closing, G/L reconciliations, financial reporting, and system functionality. Assists with year-end audit tasks, including working paper preparation and analytical reviews. Performs additional accounting and financial duties as required.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree along with a professional designation such as CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) or equivalent, plus a minimum of five years of experience with Financial ERP systems and financial reporting processes. Expertise in business processes and the systems and tools that support them. At least five years of experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting, as well as ERP systems (Oracle or equivalent). Familiarity with business process documentation, process improvement, reporting, data management, system implementations/upgrades, project management, and report writing (SAP Business Intelligence, Power BI). Knowledge of best practices in accounting, reporting, and financial planning & analysis. Proficient in financial analytical techniques. Strong skills in MS-Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio). Ability to thoroughly understand Seaspan Marine's business operations. Capacity to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to collaborate in both virtual and in-person settings. Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with effective listening abilities. Strong presentation skills for both internal and external audiences. Adaptability and openness to change. Customer service orientation and proactive initiative.
