Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct courses on wildlife ecology and environmental management, incorporating both fieldwork and classroom instruction.
  • Adhere to safety protocols during field activities.
  • Design and implement effective teaching methodologies to achieve educational objectives.
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Participate in departmental and programmatic meetings.
  • Revise and enhance curriculum in line with institutional guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Safeguard student confidentiality.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the School Chair.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient in standard wildlife sampling methods and biodiversity assessment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ecological principles and wildlife management practices.

Educational Background and Experience

  • Master's degree in Wildlife Ecology or a related discipline.
  • Prior teaching experience in a higher education setting.
  • Relevant industry experience in wildlife is advantageous.
  • Experience working with indigenous communities is preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Biologist is a plus.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

This role is a part-time replacement position with compensation and benefits aligned with the College Faculty Association Collective Agreement.
