Job Overview

As a key member of the AI & Data Science team, the Data Visualization Specialist will partner with various teams to create compelling reports and dashboards using PowerBI. This role involves integrating visual representations with data pipelines, optimizing data retrieval processes, and enhancing user engagement through effective data visualization techniques. You will be responsible for designing various visual elements such as charts, graphs, and maps, while also streamlining visualization workflows. Furthermore, you will lead training sessions and develop documentation to enable users to effectively utilize BI tools and interpret complex data insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to produce insightful and visually engaging reports and dashboards.
  • Develop both interactive and static dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Employ best practices in data visualization to ensure clarity, precision, and user engagement.
  • Create visual components (charts, graphs, maps) that effectively convey data insights.
  • Utilize efficient data querying methods and enhance backend data structures.
  • Engage with stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and translate them into data visualization specifications.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses to pinpoint key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that align with organizational objectives.
  • Work closely with data analysts, data engineers, and IT professionals to integrate visualizations with data pipelines.
  • Design and implement data models that facilitate efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Prepare, clean, and transform data from diverse sources to ensure accuracy and consistency for visualization.
  • Deliver training sessions and create documentation to assist users in understanding and effectively utilizing BI tools and visualizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis and visualization, with a focus on BI development using PowerBI (or similar tools).
  • Proficient in English and French.
  • Experience with PowerBI, Microsoft Azure, SQL, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), and Apache Spark.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the trucking industry.
