As a Rehabilitation Assistant with WRHA Community Health Services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with stroke and their families to achieve independence and confidence in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with basic personal care and home support as indicated in their care plan.
  • Carry out rehabilitation programs developed, delegated, and supervised by Speech-Language Pathologists, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists to address client goals and restorative/rehabilitation care needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the Community Stroke Care Service team to provide comprehensive care and support to clients and their families.
Requirements
  • Recent and related direct client care experience in Home Care and/or a Health care setting is preferred.
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized academic Rehabilitation Assistant Program.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload.
  • Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.
  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
Physical Requirements
  • Position involves extensive physical activity such as lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
  • Must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Must have adequate motor skills for implementation of therapeutic techniques and activities.
