Department Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager - Produce to join our team at Wholesale Club. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our produce department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Department Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the produce department, including inventory management, merchandising, and visual displays.
- Customer Service: Ensure that customers receive exceptional service, responding to their needs and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and motivate a team of produce associates to achieve sales and service goals, while maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking produce, to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
- Merchandising and Visual Displays: Create visually appealing displays and maintain a clean and organized store environment, ensuring that products are displayed in a way that drives sales and customer engagement.
- Financial Management: Manage departmental expenses, including labor, inventory, and supplies, to ensure that the department operates within budget.
- Communication: Communicate regularly with store management and other department managers to ensure that store-wide goals are being met and to share best practices.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
- Experience: Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store setting.
- Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop associates; excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service; proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
