Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pizza Department Manager to join our team at Fortinos. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the effective operation of the Pizza Department, ensuring maximum sales and gross profit, and providing customers with the best quality foods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience.
  • Oversee the effective ordering, production, and merchandising of all pizza and bread products to maintain and increase sales.
  • Plan daily production sheets to ensure variety in pizza and bread products, and effectively prioritize and organize all production and department functions.
  • Control inventory through pricing and signage of pizza and bread products to achieve company goals and budget.
  • Schedule, direct, supervise, and discipline department staff, and train all new employees.
  • Be responsible for the opening and/or closing functions of the department.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure the safety and sanitation of the production and back room areas, as per Company Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with the company food safety standards, regulations, and audits.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times.
  • Interpret and administer Company policy and ensure compliance with the Collective Agreement.

Requirements

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a qualified scratch baker, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Previous managerial experience and knowledge of production schedules is a definite asset.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
