Description:
Under the supervision of the Manager, Patient Registration, the Patient Registration Clerk is responsible for obtaining patient demographic information, registering patients, directing patient movement, maintaining records, and assisting new staff. The ideal candidate will have related office or clinical experience, be fluent in English and French, have strong interpersonal communication skills, and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and verify patient demographic information
- Register patients and update records
- Direct patient movement and coordinate with healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Assist new staff members with onboarding and training
Requirements:
- One year of related experience in an office or clinical environment
- Grade XII or equivalent
- Fluently bilingual in English and French
- Keyboarding speed: 35 wpm
- Ability to work in a Windows environment
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Physically capable of assisting patients
Language Proficiency:
The candidate must be able to understand and speak French proficiently for conversations with patients and families. Proficiency will be evaluated by the Human Resources Department.
