Job Title: Registration Clerk
Job Summary:
Seven Oaks General Hospital is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Registration Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for registering patients, handling admissions, and communicating with patients and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register patients and handle admissions in a timely and efficient manner
- Communicate with patients and staff in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Process patient payments and handle billing inquiries
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to patient concerns in a timely manner
Requirements:
- One-year direct receptionist experience with patients and public contact in a health care setting
- Experience with various types of filing systems
- Grade 12 education
- Medical Terminology Certificate
- Successful completion of a recognized program for Medical Administrative Assistant/Health Care Access Services, Unit Clerk, or the first year of a recognized Health Information Management Professional
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Windows, e-mail and database applications
- Keyboarding speed – minimum 40 wpm
- Ability to work with a minimal supervision, demonstrating flexibility and independence in planning work
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a fast-paced hospital environment with frequent interruptions and deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive patient information.
