Capital Project Manager - Hub

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Project Manager to join our team at the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) York Region. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the York Region Mental Health Community Care Hub Project.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience in leading medium to large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders. You will be responsible for assisting the Project Director in the identification, engagement, and management of internal and external stakeholder relationships, as well as ensuring that project documentation is up-to-date and that project status and timelines are monitored.

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction, or a related area of study, and will be certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or have equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 years of related experience in construction or capital project management is required, preferably in a healthcare setting and/or not-for-profit organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a document management framework in consultation with the Executive Assistant to the Project Executive, the PM team, and the Internal Project Steering Committee
  • Keep project documentation (including plans) up-to-date and monitor project status and timelines
  • Apply key project management tools, techniques, and processes
  • Assist the Project Director with the following: internal/external resource oversight, including assisting with the identification and analysis of project stakeholders and their communication needs
  • Facilitate internal team member risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategy development and communicate key project issues and changes
  • Collaborate with key external partners, such as the prime consultant, general contractor, and other sub-contractors and vendors
  • Manage a large volume of complex project issues, including those that directly impact the project's scope, budget, schedule, and quality

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction, or a related area of study
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or certification in process with relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in construction or capital project management, preferably in a healthcare setting and/or not-for-profit organization
