Position Overview

As a Horticulture Team Supervisor at Theron Horton Design Inc., you will play a crucial role in overseeing our landscaping and horticultural projects. This permanent position requires a dedicated individual with extensive experience in managing teams and ensuring the successful execution of landscaping tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Recruit, oversee, and schedule a small team of horticulture workers.
  • Project Planning: Organize the planting of various flora, including trees, gardens, and lawns.
  • Maintenance Oversight: Direct and plan grounds maintenance activities.
  • Resource Management: Estimate and plan for labor and materials required for projects.
  • Landscape Construction: Manage and supervise all aspects of landscape construction work.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate work records and logs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Repair and maintain necessary equipment.
  • Supply Management: Order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Problem Resolution: Address work-related issues, provide technical guidance, and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Schedule Establishment: Create and implement work schedules and procedures.
Supervisory Scope

You will be responsible for supervising a small team of 1 to 2 individuals, along with contractors and staff across various responsibilities.

Work Environment

This role will primarily be conducted outdoors, often in varying weather conditions, including hot and cold environments.

Qualifications
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a related field or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements

The position demands the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines, and handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy loads and standing for extended periods.

Personal Attributes

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong client focus, excellent communication skills, initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Additional Information

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and have access to their own transportation. A criminal record check and driver's validity license check will be required.
