Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Horticulture Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our horticultural services, including the management of staff, planning and execution of projects, and ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Recruit, train, and manage a team of horticultural workers to ensure the efficient execution of projects.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Develop and implement project plans, including the estimation of labour and materials required to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Organize and Direct Construction of Decks and Decorative or Retaining Walls: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative walls, and retaining walls, ensuring that they are built to the highest standards and meet client expectations.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Develop and implement plans for landscape construction projects, including the management of staff and the coordination of materials and equipment.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Source and procure materials, equipment, and supplies required for projects, ensuring that they are of the highest quality and meet client expectations.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement work schedules and procedures to ensure the efficient execution of projects and the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction.

  • Accessible and Inclusive Recruitment Policies: Apply recruitment policies that accommodate persons with disabilities, ensuring equal opportunities for all candidates.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who have been displaced by conflict or natural disaster, providing them with opportunities for employment and integration into our team.
  • Support for Youths: Offer on-the-job training and mentorship to young people, helping them to develop their skills and achieve their career goals.
  • Support for Veterans: Provide mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for veterans, helping them to transition into civilian life and find employment.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, helping them to develop their skills and achieve their career goals.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, and offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
  • Support for Mature Workers: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination, and offer mentorship programs that support mature workers in their career development.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
