About the Role:

The New Brunswick museum is a key cultural institution in New Brunswick, Canada, and EllisDon is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead the construction of a new wing and structural improvements to the existing building. This project involves the construction of five new wings to the north section of the museum and structural improvements to the east wing, connecting two previous facilities.

  • Nine exhibiting galleries
  • Flexible spaces for educational purposes and community events

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion, including design, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with the Superintendent.
  • Prepare tender packages and trade subcontracts.
  • Prepare regular, timely, and accurate billings for Owners and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings.
  • Meet with Owners and Architects in a professional manner and communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company.
  • Monitor, interpret, and forecast a project's cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow.
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team's ongoing development and progression.
  • Submit project reports to Area Manager and communicate with management about project progress and areas of risk that need to be escalated.

Requirements:

  • A construction-related degree or diploma and five years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in a Project Manager role in Institutional or Commercial construction.
  • A working knowledge of construction scopes and activities, scheduling, project management, and contract software.
  • The ability to confidently mentor and delegate to a large team while developing and maintaining strong client relations.
  • CISD Level II (Secret) clearance or eligibility to obtain is considered an asset.
