Role Overview

  • As a Senior Product Strategist at Nmbr, you will play a crucial role in defining the future of payroll services in Canada. This position requires extensive collaboration with diverse teams to deliver innovative payroll solutions and financial products, including card services, earned wage access, and modern payment methods.
  • In this essential position, you will partner with leadership to ensure the product vision aligns with business objectives, work alongside engineering and UI/UX teams to guarantee seamless integration and user experience, and engage with partners to enhance product offerings and drive market success. Staying informed about the latest payroll legislation will be vital to ensure our solutions not only comply with but also anticipate regulatory changes. This role is perfect for innovative and entrepreneurial thinkers eager to make a significant impact on how businesses manage their payroll systems, fostering both innovation and growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to uncover emerging customer needs, industry trends, and the competitive landscape. This information will inform strategic decision-making throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Translate complex customer requirements and valuable market insights into clear product specifications and requirements, ensuring they reflect the evolving market needs and align with company objectives.
  • Effectively prioritize the product backlog, balancing business value, market demands, and customer feedback to focus on the most impactful initiatives.
  • Develop and implement thorough go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, pricing models, and marketing materials, to ensure successful product launches and adoption.
  • Stay informed about payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements, integrating this knowledge to maintain and enhance product compliance and relevance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, providing insights and guidance to customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders, thereby enhancing the credibility and utility of our solutions.
  • Keep abreast of global industry trends and emerging technologies, utilizing this knowledge to drive innovation within our payroll products, ensuring we remain ahead of the market curve.
  • Develop product requirements using a data-driven approach, incorporating feedback from various stakeholders, including executives and other product teams. Integrate these requirements into the product roadmap, providing accurate timelines and clear status updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify new opportunities for feature development by analyzing customer feedback, market trends, and competitive gaps, ensuring our products continue to deliver distinctive and valuable solutions.
  • Lead the evaluation of partners' payroll products to identify gaps and potential enhancements, making decisions that not only meet end-user needs but also improve compatibility with other products and consider the evolving landscape of work, such as access to earned wages.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in product management or business analysis.
  • Proven ability to synthesize and prioritize input from diverse sources, including users, industry trends, competitive landscape, and internal stakeholders to guide product development.
  • Demonstrated understanding of various business functions beyond product management, such as sales, support, implementation, and compliance, reflecting a holistic view of product success.
  • Exceptional collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the capability to influence both internal teams and external partners effectively.
  • Experience navigating high levels of ambiguity, with a resourceful, solution-oriented approach that drives team success and delivers customer value.
  • Experience in HR, Payroll, Card Programs, and Fintech is highly desirable. Familiarity with complex regulatory and operational domains is also beneficial.
  • Track record of leading substantial, cross-functional product initiatives over multiple quarters that have significantly impacted business growth.
  • Ability to work creatively in dynamic environments where innovative solutions are needed to address emerging business challenges.
  • Additional experience in high-growth B2B2B SaaS environments and developing products for small to medium-sized businesses is highly valued.
