Job Summary

The National Ballet of Canada seeks a highly experienced and skilled Executive Director to lead our arts association. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational management of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Governance
    • Provide strategic direction and vision for the organization
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective governance and management
    • Oversee the development and implementation of the organization's annual budget and financial plans
  • Program Development and Management
    • Develop and implement programs and services that align with the organization's mission and strategic objectives
    • Oversee the development and implementation of program budgets and financial plans
    • Ensure effective program evaluation and reporting
  • Human Resources and Operations
    • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and development of staff and volunteers
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to human resources and operations
    • Ensure effective management of the organization's facilities and resources
  • External Relations and Fund Development
    • Develop and implement strategies to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, and community partners
    • Oversee the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns and events
    • Ensure effective communication and engagement with the community and media
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, arts management, or non-profit management
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role in the arts or non-profit sector
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Proven track record of leadership and management experience in the arts or non-profit sector
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong financial management and budgeting skills
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
