JOB SYNOPSIS:

As a key member of our Indoor Operations team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional culinary resort experiences for our guests. Under the direction of the Indoor Operations Manager, you will lead the Food and Beverage team in providing top-notch service, ensuring consistent and timely service, controlling costs, championing sustainability initiatives, and supporting other department requests to drive Resort success.

Key areas of responsibility include department recruiting, scheduling front of house staff, overseeing food service, and managing costs and inventory of all relevant products and supplies.

Our front of house team members work together to complete tasks such as cafe-style service, bussing, waste management, and more.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Champion a sustainable approach in daily operations, development, and planning.
  • Embody and promote Whitewater's mission statement and values.
  • Participate in hiring and training staff for all Front of House.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and schedule all Front of House staff.
  • Order, maintain, and control inventory for all front of house products and supplies to match business volumes.
  • Collaborate with the Management team to ensure pricing meets the organization's goals of profitability.
  • Resolve customer complaints and internal conflicts between staff.
  • Oversee food service and act as an expeditor when necessary to ensure consistent and timely movement of completed food orders from kitchen to customer table.
  • Ensure practice of health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers in the event of delays.
  • Ensure opening and closing duties are completed to a high standard each day.
  • Facilitate positive and professional communication between the Front of House and Back of House.
  • Support the Bar team in delivering exceptional service to all guests in the lodge.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are practiced by all staff members.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized environment in all areas of the lodge.
  • Manage department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive organizational goals.
  • Deliver a positive, memorable, and outstanding guest experience.
  • Promote Whitewater's safety culture by reviewing and updating Department Manuals, CDPP, and Employee Handbook as needed.
  • Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:

  • Tourism, Hospitality, or Business Certificate an asset.
  • Food & Beverage Serving it Right.
  • Food Safe Level 1.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Previous leadership/supervisor/management experience, preferably in the food & beverage sector.
  • Familiarity with Google Workplace an asset.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills.
  • Must be of legal age as you are working in licensed areas.
  • Computer and cash handling experience.
  • Must be willing to travel to the mountain as well as work weekends and holidays as required.
