Role OverviewAs the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Lead Consultant, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the enterprise-wide DEI strategy and initiatives. Your efforts will enhance the employee experience and foster a culture of belonging, ensuring that diversity and equity are at the forefront of our organizational practices.
In this pivotal position, you will collaborate with leaders, Employee Resource Groups, Human Resources, and other essential stakeholders to establish and integrate meaningful DEI practices. Your work will help create an environment where all employees feel valued and respected, regardless of their diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive DEI strategy that aligns with Cogeco's core values and long-term objectives.
- Define and drive the implementation of innovative DEI initiatives, establishing measurable goals that support our overall business strategy.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership to weave DEI principles into every aspect of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment to career advancement.
- Craft the DEI narrative and work with communication teams to enhance employee engagement and promote our commitment to diversity.
- Support the DEI Council by facilitating discussions and providing guidance to ensure effective collaboration across the organization.
- Engage with internal and external partners to strengthen our DEI efforts and community involvement.
- Empower Employee Resource Groups to cultivate a culture of inclusivity and belonging.
- Monitor and report on key metrics related to our DEI strategy, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide expert advice to senior leadership on DEI best practices and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Contribute to the development of our accessibility plan and stay informed on industry trends and requirements.
Educational Background
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as business administration or human resources is preferred.
Professional ExperienceA minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience, including at least 3 years focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a solid grasp of its principles and practices.
Essential Skills- Proven experience in project management and change management.
- Strong proficiency in Google Suite for creating impactful presentations.
- Ability to analyze and validate data while providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and a team-oriented approach.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required, as interactions will occur with diverse teams across Canada and the United States.
