We are seeking a Lead Cloud Security Engineer to join our expanding organization and contribute significantly to our customer experience by ensuring satisfaction with every transaction.

Role Overview

As a Lead Cloud Security Engineer at Sleep Country, you will spearhead our DevOps and security initiatives, focusing on the management, daily operations, and security of our technological ecosystem, particularly within Oracle and Google Cloud environments. This position demands a profound knowledge of Oracle technologies and applications, alongside strong leadership and analytical skills. You will enhance our monitoring and alerting systems while ensuring the functionality, security, and compliance of our cloud-based applications and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of all facets of DevSecOps, including pipeline management, logging, monitoring, and security tools.
  • Collaborate closely with both onshore and offshore teams to ensure the operational efficiency of our Oracle Retail Process Orchestration and Monitoring (POM) processes.
  • Monitoring: Maintain and enhance our monitoring and alerting systems.
  • API Management: Supervise the administration of the Apigee API management platform, ensuring secure API development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Data Security: Formulate and enforce policies and procedures for data protection, compliance, and privacy in accordance with GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Security Practices: Design and implement robust security measures for cloud and hybrid systems, focusing on risk mitigation and vulnerability reduction.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of security policies, controls, and best practices for our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
  • Incident Management: Lead and engage in incident response activities related to cloud and API security, including investigation, mitigation, and recovery processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with IT, development, and business teams to integrate DevSecOps considerations into technology and business initiatives.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies, trends, and threats; recommend and implement innovative DevSecOps solutions.
  • Support application teams in adopting the selected DevSecOps tools/technologies; collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot platform-related issues.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed within set timeframes and maintain high-quality standards, with thorough documentation to support the transition of operational activities.
Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in DevSecOps, with at least three years focused on cloud operations, security, and management.
  • At least three years of development experience in object-oriented programming languages.
  • Proven experience collaborating with teams on complex, multi-tiered web applications.
  • Proficiency in utilizing CI/CD tools.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Practical experience with infrastructure as code tools.
  • Understanding of Test or Behavior Driven Development.
  • Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • General understanding of data protection laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and experience with compliance frameworks (ISO, NIST).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying strategic information, security, and operational topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key Technologies:

  • Expertise in Google Cloud Platform and Apigee, CloudRun/CloudBuild, GKE, CloudSQL, with relevant certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Security Engineer and Apigee Certified API Engineer.
  • Java SpringBoot or similar build and test tools.
  • Jira Software Management, Confluence.
  • Dynatrace Performance Monitoring and PagerDuty Operations for incident response.
  • Hands-on experience with Git, GitLab/GitHub/CloudBuild, Kubernetes deployment, Terraform, and other Agile CI/CD tools.
