Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker III to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work on patient and hospital equipment and complex mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and demand maintenance on building systems and equipment, including troubleshooting and repairing electronic components on patient and hospital equipment.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on boilers, HVAC, medical air, and vacuum systems, as well as pure water systems.
  • Coordinate and assign work to other Maintenance Worker staff to meet operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operation of hospital systems and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or 1 year specialized/technical training in a related field.
  • 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines or AHS standards where boiler support is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, medical air, and vacuum systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
