Role Overview

As a Market Analyst specializing in the Energy Sector at Hkese, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating commodity market trends and advising the commercial team on strategic marketing initiatives and distribution channels across North America and Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance and sustain a comprehensive understanding of the Canadian oilsands market.
  • Formulate strategies aimed at boosting sales presence in both the Chinese and Canadian markets.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of market dynamics by monitoring supply and demand balances, market activities, and pricing trends.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and procurement teams, performing economic analyses of feedstock/products and project valuations from a trading perspective.
  • Collect and analyze data from diverse sources, maintaining internal databases and providing insights for management decisions.
  • Review and refine pricing structures and models to optimize profit margins.
  • Evaluate industry developments, trends, and economic factors.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance existing processes for improved productivity, including data digitalization efforts such as batch extraction and filtering.
  • Travel frequently to key markets as required.

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Analytics or Mathematics.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin is essential.
  • Experience working in international environments.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications.
  • Demonstrated experience in data visualization and interpretation.
  • In-depth knowledge of various data analysis models and techniques.
  • Experience in Project Management or IT Vendor Management is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. and Canadian markets, particularly in the energy sector, is preferred.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Effective resource planning skills.
  • Proficient in managing internal client relationships.
  • Ability to balance long-term and short-term objectives effectively.
  • Exhibit strong team-building and management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
